Japanese Pokemon Cards Are Better

When I first started collecting Pokemon back in the 90s, nearly 18 years ago was all into the US versions. After all I didn’t speak Japanese, and I still don’t, and they were a little intimidating.

But then something happened.

I understood their value.

The primary difference is in the card stock quality and the texture on ultra rares.

The Japanese cards are much more appealing with the gold border as are the fronts with a white border instead of yellow. In addition, the holo cards have foil borders.

They are also much less likely to come out of the packs off center, with edgewear, or miscut.
